ARTIST STATEMENT
Part of the groundbreaking Alley Series, this piece interrogates the commodification of emotional availability in contemporary dating culture. The subject's vulnerable stance against weathered brick speaks to the erosion of authentic connection in favor of performative sensitivity.
Exhibited at the Bushwick Open Studios 2024 and discussed extensively in "The Male Gaze Inverted: New Perspectives in Post-Bro Aesthetics" (MIT Press, forthcoming).
